Kostas Bekris and Konstantinos Tsianos, along with Dr. Lydia Kavraki, received the Best Student Paper award for their paper entitled, “A Distributed Protocol for Safe Real-time Planning of Communicating Vehicles with Second-Order Dynamics,” at the First International Conference on Robot Communication and Coordination (ROBOCOMM), 2007.
The conference paper has also been invited to appear in a special issue of ACM/Springer’s Mobile Networks and Applications Journal (MONET). It will be published in the journal early in 2009 under the title, “Safe and Distributed Kinodynamic Replanning for Vehicular Networks.”
