CS ACM Team Wins Third Place Regional Contest
The ACM Programming Contest Team attended the 2009 ACM South Central USA Regional Programming Contest November 6–7, held at Texas A & M University. Three teams of three people from Rice competed—Rice Blue, Rice Grey and Rice Owls—in the five-hour contest. Each team was given a computer and were challenged to solve eight problems in the allotted time.
The Rice Blue Team (Kestutis Cesnavius, Nico Feltman and George Chen) placed third in the competition, and led for a while, after correctly solving five of the eight problems. Members of the other two teams included Daniel Podder, Grant Cathcart and Kevin Beale (all on the Rice Gray team), Jaewoo Jeon, James Mogensen and Ace Emil (all on the Rice Owls team).
