Alan Cox wins USENIX Best Paper Award
July 11, 2006 - Alan Cox, associate professor of computer science and electrical and computer engineering; Willy Zwaenepoel, professor and dean of the School of Computer and Communications Sciences at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne, and Aravind Menon, a doctoral candidate at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne were awarded the Best Paper Award by the 2006 USENIX Annual Technical Conference for their paper entitled, "Optimizing Network Virtualization in Xen."
"Optimizing Network Virtualization in Xen" evaluates three techniques for optimizing network performance in the Xen virtualized environment. USENIX, the Advanced Computing Systems Association, holds annual meetings on developments in all aspects of computing systems. For the past decade, conference program committees have selected a Best Paper to award during the meeting.
